Use `GET /v1/me` to retrieve the authenticated account and its configured API scopes. Use `GET /v1/usage` with a key that has the `usage` scope to read recorded usage for the account.

Usage is an account-level record. Treat it as reporting data: display it in a dashboard, reconcile it with internal records, and avoid making availability decisions from a single response. Use the [Request limits](/docs/limits) guide to shape traffic instead of deriving a limit from usage data.

If the key is scoped, it must include `usage`; otherwise the API returns an insufficient-scope error.
